Mackley Construction had to call in the bomb disposal squad when an unexploded anti tank mine was found during excavation of the beach at Cart Gap, Happisburgh. Mackley are building a new ramp for the RNLI. The mine was found at 8.00am and blown up by the Bomb disposal team later the same day. Had this happened in the summer and the mine dried out, it could have become unstable.
